What is included in the $49 first visit
For new self pay patients, your $49 first visit includes the consultation, a full chiropractic exam, digital X-rays if clinically necessary, your first chiropractic adjustment, and your first acupuncture and dry needling treatment. Everything happens in one visit, at one price, with one doctor.
What we treat on your first visit
Most new patients come in with back pain, neck pain, headaches or migraines, sciatica and radiating nerve pain, or shoulder and hip pain. The exam and any imaging tell us what is actually driving your pain, so care starts at the cause on day one. See the full list of conditions we treat.
How booking works
Pick a day and a time in the scheduler above, tell us what brings you in, and add your name, phone number, and email. We confirm your visit by phone or text. There is no payment to reserve, and you only pay when you come in. If you would rather talk to a person, call us and the front desk will find a time that fits.
What to expect at your first visit
Plan on about 45 minutes. Dr. Legg starts with your history and what you want to get back to, then a hands on exam of how you move. If X-rays are clinically necessary, they are taken in the office the same day. Then you get your first treatment, so you leave having been treated, not just evaluated. What happens after the first visit
Your second visit is your review of findings. Dr. Legg walks you through your X-rays, what he found, and your treatment plan in plain English. You leave knowing what to do at home, and you decide the next step. There are no contracts and no pressure. Our home care guide covers what to do between visits.
Who the $49 first visit is for
The $49 first visit is for new self pay patients only. It does not apply to Medicare, auto accident or personal injury cases, or workers' compensation. One $49 visit per new patient. We also accept Medicare and most major plans, so ask us about using insurance instead.
Using Medicare or insurance instead
Medicare covers medically necessary spinal adjustments. Medicare does not cover acupuncture or dry needling performed by a chiropractor, so those services are self pay for Medicare patients. Who you will see
Dr. Derek M. Legg, D.C., M.P.H. earned his Doctor of Chiropractic at Logan University and a Master of Public Health at Grand Canyon University. He is Certified in Acupuncture and reads your imaging with you himself. You see the same doctor at every visit, so your treatment plan stays consistent and nothing gets handed off between providers. Why one doctor for the joint and the muscle
Most offices send you to one provider for the joint and another for the muscle. Here, Dr. Legg does both in the same visit: a chiropractic adjustment for the joint, and acupuncture or dry needling for the muscle and nerve irritation around it. See all of our services. Do I need a referral?
No. In Arizona, you can see a chiropractor without a referral.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, Monday through Thursday. Booking online reserves your preferred time, so you are seen sooner.
How long is the first visit?

Do I pay anything to book?
No. There is no charge to reserve your visit. New self pay patients pay the $49 when they come in.
Bringing someone with you?
Couples and families often come in together. After you book, the scheduler lets you add a family member's $49 visit, and we will do our best to schedule you back to back. Each new self pay patient gets their own $49 first visit. You can also send a friend the offer from our referral page.
Can I change or cancel my first visit?
Yes. Call us at (623) 214-7600 and we will move it to a time that works. There is no penalty for changing a visit.
