Existing Patients at Legg Chiropractic in Surprise, AZ
This page is for patients already under care at Legg Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Surprise, AZ. It gathers the things patients ask about between visits: how to book your next visits, what to do after your adjustment, how to refer a friend, and where the insurance and Medicare answers live. Dr. Derek M. Legg, D.C., M.P.H. sees you himself at every visit.
How do I book my next visit?
Three ways. Schedule online at leggchiropractic.com/schedule any hour of the day, call (623) 214-7600 during clinic hours, or book at the front desk before you leave. Booking the next visits before you walk out is the single most useful thing you can do for your recovery, because consistent visits build on each other and starting and stopping lets progress slip away.
What if I need to cancel or move a visit?
Call as early as you can and we will find another time that keeps your plan on track. A missed visit is a reason to rebook, not to stop. If you are running late, call and we will tell you whether to come in or move the visit.
Is it normal to be sore after an adjustment?
Yes. Mild soreness, stiffness or tiredness in the treated areas is normal for up to three days, like a good workout. Ice for new or sharp pain, heat for stiffness, twenty minutes at a time with a cloth on the skin. Soreness that lasts longer than three days, or that gets worse instead of better, is a reason to call. The full version, including what to avoid for 48 hours and when to call, is on our after your adjustment page.
How does my treatment plan work?
Your plan was built at your report of findings with a stopping point, and it is measured at each re-examination: range of motion, the examination findings, and what you can do without pain. If the numbers have not moved, the plan changes.
Can I refer a friend or family member?
Yes, and thank you. Our refer a friend page has the email and text buttons that send them the $49 first visit for new self pay patients, with everything it includes. The $49 first visit does not apply to Medicare, private insurance claims, workers' compensation, or auto accident and personal injury cases; those patients are welcome too, they just book the normal way.
Where are the insurance and billing answers?
Our insurance page lists the plans we accept and how benefits are verified. Medicare patients can read what Medicare covers and what is self pay on our Medicare page. Every self pay price is quoted in writing before the treatment it pays for, and nothing is added to a visit without your yes. If something on a statement does not make sense, call and ask for Hailey.
Can I leave a review?
If you have had a good experience, a Google review helps other people in Surprise find us. It is entirely optional and we never offer anything for one. The link is on our review page. If something did not go well, we would rather hear it directly: call (623) 214-7600 and ask for Dr. Legg.
Can I add acupuncture or dry needling to my visits?
Yes, if your examination shows it fits. Dr. Legg is Certified in Acupuncture by the Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners and trained in dry needling, so the adjustment, acupuncture and dry needling can all happen in the same visit, in the same room, with the same doctor. When your case calls for both, the needles go on first to settle the muscle, and then comes the adjustment. The acupuncture portion usually takes around 15 minutes. Ask at your next visit; nothing is added to your plan without your yes. Acupuncture and dry needling performed by a chiropractor are not covered by Medicare and are billed as self pay, quoted in writing before treatment. Read how the combined visit works on our chiropractic and acupuncture page.
What if my problem comes back, or a new one starts?
Call or book online. Returning patients are examined again before treatment resumes, because the plan that worked last year may not be the plan for this problem. If you were hurt in a car accident or at work, say so when you book; those visits are billed differently and are explained on our auto accident injuries and work injuries pages.
